Denmark's support for Ukraine has been substantial, including providing loans and guarantees that enable Danish companies to play a key role in the reconstruction of Ukraine.
Denmark’s support is not stopping. This message was conveyed by Business Minister Morten Bødskov to Ukraine's Vice Prime Minister and Minister of Economy, Yulia Svyrydenko, who was also informed that with the 2025 budget agreement, new funds are being added to the business track of the Ukraine Fund.
In total, there is now approximately 2.5 billion DKK in available capacity. This can serve as a foundation for new commercial projects, where Danish companies contribute to building Ukrainian society and infrastructure. This is in addition to projects that EIFO has already financed with around 300 million DKK.
EIFO is processing projects with a financing need of around 1.7 billion DKK. Thus, there is approximately 800 million DKK in capacity to cover further projects.
Business Minister Morten Bødskov:
"The Ukrainian fight for freedom continues – and so does Denmark's support. I emphasized this to my colleague and Vice Prime Minister and Minister of Economy, Yulia Svyrydenko, during my visit to Ukraine. The fight against Putin's atrocities is not only happening on the battlefield. Therefore, we must continue to ensure that Danish companies can help the Ukrainian people rebuild their country. It is a unique Danish approach, which enables us, together with the Ukrainians, to create the foundation for a free future."
The loan and guarantee scheme is administered by EIFO, Denmark’s Export and Investment Fund. Since the establishment of the loan and guarantee scheme, a total of 1 billion DKK in government funding has been allocated to the scheme, providing the basis for loans and guarantees totaling 2.8 billion DKK. EIFO has issued loans and guarantees for about 300 million DKK and is already in dialogue with several Danish companies about specific loans and guarantees for an additional 1.7 billion DKK, which are currently under clarification. With the funds added to the scheme through the 2025 budget, EIFO now also has the capacity to take on additional new projects at 800 million DKK in capacity.
